MY LATEST CREATIONS SINCE MOVING BACK IN...

So we have moved back in our house as of the end of June, but is it finished yet? No. No it is not. We have hired a new contractor and I have high hopes that he will finish soon, but he is very busy since he is the only person that has a good reputation that I could find. I had high hopes before, and that didn't work out for me. Oh well, at least we are here and things are beautiful! I love my furniture, and I love not having as much stuff in this house. I will post pictures in a week or two.

I have been very busy unpacking and doing other stuff that I would rather not have been bothered with, but I have spent some time here and there in my studio. Stampin' Up! has been coming out with the most wonderful stamps and dies, and I could sit here all day long and make the Little Treat Boxes. So cute!

I have also managed to make some cards, some of which I have been working on for a long time. I stamp some things, diecut some things, and then make decisions about backgrounds, embellishments, etc., and so I am doing what I call hit and run stamping. I run in and make one decision, and then leave. Then I run in again and make another decision. Finally, months later, I finish the card. Hopefully I can get back to some more normal stamping now that the unpacking is finished, although life hasn't let up on me yet.
The first cards I did were made by putting together pieces that I already had from the Jar of Flowers Bundle. I just had to emboss the background and put it together. The jar is a punch, and the flowers are the stamps that are bundled with the punch. When you get a bundle, it is 15% off of the price of the stamps and dies bought separately. The sunflower card has a piece of background paper that coordinates with this bundle. The paper in this pack is so beautiful!

The next ones are Christmas cards made with another stamp set that has dies that coordinate, Toile Christmas.

My latest card was finally put together just about an hour ago. The pieces have been sitting here for a while.

I ran across an old, old stamp from 1996 and decided to see if it still stamped well. It didn't, but I was able to fix things so you couldn't tell. I have always loved this stamp. One of these cards is crooked as heck, I just can't seem to get things straight.

I have one more, and it is done with the cutest stamp set. I used some of the stamps on the treat boxes also. This is a bundle also called Have A Hoot. There is a die that cuts out the three windows, so it is useful for everything, all year.

I am so thankful to God to be back home, even thought it isn't home because everything is different, and that's so weird. We are home, but not at home, but that will change over time. And I am very thankful for Stampin' Up!, the products have been incredible, and I am enjoying stamping so much. I will try to post pictures of the house in a few weeks. I want to get it finished first, but I may post pictures of the kitchen sooner. I love it!

Blessings,
Janis

ACCIDENTAL ART

I was looking at a paper arts magazine, Somerset Life, which is no longer being published unfortunately, and I saw a tag that gave me an idea. So I die cut a tag, found a piece of paper to cover it with, thought for a minute about how I was going to do the tag, which involved cutting scalloped circles out of patterned paper to make a flower, and then some hearts that I had punched out of some very pretty paper earlier that day caught my eye. I laid three of them on the tag, and voila! Accidental art. It was nothing like what I was planning to do, but I love it! I should have put the words on in a different order, but it's too late now.

I am knee deep in hearts here, and hope to actually put them together on some cards this week. Stay tuned!

Blessings,
Janis

CATCH UP POST

I have some photos that I haven't posted, so I'm going to throw them together here and hope that this catches me up with posting my new cards, etc.. I should have titled this "Hodgepodge".

These are all the treat boxes that I made for Halloween. So much fun!

I took some pictures of Christmas cards, some of which are really old.

And finally, the pockets that I made for gift cards, these were fun too.

Blessings,
Janis

MORE STAMPIN' UP! SALE-A-BRATION SAMPLES

I have made a couple of cards using Sale-A-Bration sets, dies, and punches. I also used some stamps and dies from the new Mini Catalog. I am just loving the products that Stampin' Up! is putting out these days!
This is my favorite card that I have done lately:

The products used for this card are:
     Stamps: Thoughtful Blooms
     Punches: Small Bloom Punch
Paper: Whisper White, Blueberry Bushel, Balmy Blue
     Ink: Blueberry Bushel, Balmy Blue

The next one is about half and half: half SAB products and half mini catalog products. I really love the decorative strip at the top and bottom, which is a die from the Lily Pad die set. The punch, die, and Thoughtful Blooms stamp set are all free products that you can get during Sale-A-Bration, which runs from January through March.

Products Used:
       Dies: Lily Pad
     Punches: Heart Punch Pack
Paper: Whisper White, Real Red, Granny Apple Green
Ink: Real Red, Granny Apple Green
     Stamps: Thoughtful Blooms, Heartfelt

I have two cards for my next post, and then I will be caught up, I hope.

Blessings,
Janis

MY FIRST CHALLENGE ENTRY

I have been wanting to enter challenges for years, but it never happened. When I saw this one from the As You See It Challenge blog, I knew I had to do it. As soon as I saw the requirements to meet the challenge, I knew what I wanted to do, but unfortunately my first idea didn't work out, so I modified it, and I'm not as happy with it as I thought I would be, but oh well, it is what it is.

The requirements were:

I had already used the Stampin' Up! Subtles embossing folder with silver foil before and loved it, so I knew that was going to be my background. After I finished the card, I realized that I had made something that was impossible to take a picture of. I finally ended up with one halfway decent picture, but it isn't the greatest and doesn't show the sparkle on the snowflakes, which were cut out of white glitter paper.

The home for this challenge is: http://www.asyouseeitchallenge.com/2020/01/challenge-216-recipe-for-sparkle.html

And here is my entry:

MY FIRST STAMPIN' UP! SALE-A-BRATION SAMPLE

When I received an order with new cardstock, stamp pad, and a stamp and die set, which was free because of SaleA-Bration, I sat down and made this card. I am not really crazy about it, but I guess it's ok, I like the colors anyway. During Sale-A-Bration, January through March, you
can get free stamps, dies, paper, and embellishments with your Stampin' Up! order. I call this one my "Monet card". I used the following products:

Cardstock: Rich Razzleberry, Pear Pizzazz, and Whisper White
Ink: Rich Razzleberry and Pear Pizzazz
Other Products: Blue gems, Wink of Stella, Balmy Blue and Purple Posy Stampin' Blends
Stamps: Lovely Lily Pad
Dies: Lily Pad

I will be posting another card made with more SAB products tomorrow, one that I like a lot more than this one.

Blessings,
Janis
